There is no universal hour when VFS Global, TLScontact and BLS International release visa appointment slots. Timing depends on where you apply, your destination, the visa category and the booking system used for that route. Some applicants see a calendar, while others enter a queue, join a waitlist or receive an assigned appointment.

Advice such as checking at midnight or expecting every Monday can waste your time. Check the official process for your exact application, prepare what you will need and be ready when a suitable appointment becomes visible or is offered.

If your calendar is empty now, start with what to do when no visa appointments are available. This guide focuses on release timing and the myths around it.

Why there is no worldwide release timetable

The VFS Global FAQ sends applicants to the relevant country-specific site for appointment procedures. That route-level detail matters. A process described for one application market and destination should not be copied across every VFS, TLScontact or BLS route.

For example, the official VFS Canada to France FAQ says appointment categories can use separate calendars. The earliest date shown is only current when viewed and may change as other applicants book. It also says the timing of new slots varies and a cancelled appointment does not return to the calendar at once.

That is useful evidence for Canada to France, not a universal VFS rule. A Germany route from the UAE uses a waitlist, while other VFS routes direct applicants to a booking calendar.

TLScontact routes can use different methods

The current TLScontact process for France from Wandsworth in London shows two approaches on the same page. Short-stay applicants enter a queue and are contacted when an appointment is available. They then have 24 hours to pay the service fee and confirm. Other visa types let the applicant choose a date and time, followed by a different payment window.

This is why a claim that TLScontact releases every appointment at a certain time is unreliable. The method can change with the visa type, centre and country where the application is made.

Our TLScontact appointment availability guide explains the preparation in more detail. Give the instructions inside your official account priority if they differ from a general guide.

What BLS Spain London confirms

The official BLS Spain London website provides booking, appointment-letter reprinting and cancellation controls. It also warns applicants to use the official BLS site and not buy appointments from intermediaries. Its public pages do not give a recurring day or hour when London appointments are released.

It is therefore reasonable to watch for changing availability, but not to promise that BLS Spain dates will appear at a particular time. Applicants for Spain from London can use our BLS Spain appointment guide alongside the official instructions.

A cancellation and a new release are not the same

Providers can add capacity, change categories, assign places from a queue or make an appointment visible after somebody cancels. From an applicant's side, those events may all look like a newly available time. They do not necessarily follow the same schedule.

The Canada to France guidance is clear that a cancellation does not produce a public opening at once. There can be a delay before the date returns. It would be misleading to calculate a release time from the moment another applicant says they cancelled.

A suitable date may also disappear while several people are considering it. There is no need to panic, but it helps to know your acceptable dates, keep the official account ready and return to the provider promptly.

Guessing a magic release hour is a poor use of your day. Monitor my route for an earlier appointment if you would rather have MyVisaPing search the selected route throughout the day. It sends an email and, where available and selected, an SMS when it finds a suitable opening. Availability and booking remain controlled by the official provider.

What to do instead of guessing a release time

  1. Confirm the destination and centre. A calendar is no use if it belongs to the wrong consular area or visa category.
  2. Read the route instructions. Check whether you select a date, enter a queue, join a waitlist or wait for an appointment to be assigned.
  3. Prepare before availability changes. Keep your application reference, passport details, suitable dates and payment method nearby.
  4. Use only the official booking page. Do not buy a slot or share account details with someone claiming privileged access.
  5. Treat timing rumours cautiously. A pattern noticed by one applicant may be temporary, coincidental or limited to one category.

To understand why the method matters, see our comparison of provider waitlists, queues and cancellation notifications. The VFS Global availability guide covers VFS preparation separately.

Choose where you are applying from

The useful answer is route-specific

No responsible guide can give one release timetable for VFS Global, TLScontact and BLS International. Follow the official instructions for your exact application and stay prepared for change. MyVisaPing is independent. It monitors the route you select and contacts you when it finds suitable availability, but it cannot create, reserve or guarantee an earlier appointment.
